The theories used at Edina Chiropractic Therapy are based on work that began thousands of years BC in China as well as in Egypt. These theories were not used in the United States until after 1890 when the chiropractic movement was founded by D. D. Palmer. That movement was expanded around 1910 by Palmer’s son and student, B. J. Palmer.

Although the American Medical Association dismissed chiropractic medicine for many years, in 1987, the courts found that there was no scientific evidence for this dismissal Since that time, chiropractic care has been shown in several studies to be an effective way to treat back pain. Some of the studies show that chiropractic care is more effective than the care provided by other methods.

In the United States, a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) must first complete at least 90 semester hours of undergraduate work. Many students enter the chiropractic school having already obtained their Bachelors Degree.

The four year chiropractic program requires that students have a minimum of 4200 hours of work in the classroom, the laboratory or in clinical experience to graduate. After graduation, the person wanting to be a chiropractor must sit for four to five exams and fulfill their state’s requirement in order to practice chiropractic medicine there. Many states require that the DC (Doctor of Chiropractic) take continuing education courses each year.

There are nineteen colleges of chiropractic medicine in the United States that have been accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE). These colleges are spread across the United States from North to South and from East to West.

A Doctor of Chiropractic is considered as a primary care provider in all states when insurance companies provide for chiropractic care. This will allow patients to visit a chiropractor for car without another doctor’s referral.

Most modern chiropractors will take x-rays to help in the diagnosis of back pain. The care that is provided is both safe and effective in treating back pain.

Edina Chiropractic Therapy offers treatment for back pain that is based on theories that have been in existence for thousands of years. More info now on http://www.aaronspainfreeliving.info
